Giovanni Battista Rei, entrepreneur born in Bioglio (Biella), held an iron ore exploitation licence in Pietra Bianca from 1784 to 1804. Together with his partners Cossato and Florio he founded in 1788 the steel plant in Rondolere, that will go to Luigi Ramella after 1804 .

Jehann Nicolaus Mühlhan, born in Clausthal in Saxony, was a mine ispector of Nassau-Tittemburg Princes and captain of the Savoy royal mines from 1724 to 1734. In 1736 he was granted a licence to mine in Alta Valsessera and Andorno areas as a private entrepreneur, founding the mill-dressing plant of Torrette 3 and the foundry at Piana del Ponte. He died in Andorno in 1739.

Spirito Benedetto Nicolis di Robilant, born in Turin in 1724, military officer, was appointed mining general inspector and member of the permanent committee for the iron-steel policy in the Sabaudian State in 1752.  In 1756 he founded the Opificio on the River Sessera right bank, revamping the Argentera mines and the Torrette 3 and Piana del Ponte plants. Retired in 1773, he died in 1801.

Umberto de Patrico,  leader of a company of entrepreneurs from Brescia, signed an agreement with the city of Vercelli in 1230 for the exploitation of all the metal mines in the area among Quara, Montuccia and Isolà, achieving a wide range of logistic and tax facilities. There is no evidence of these pioneering activities, most likely excluding Torrette 1.
